Granny With The Gun is a real "1-2-3-4-GO!" type of track. Plenty of distortion and they're off. It's also the first song written together by Mikkel and Morten H. - later it turned out that it was to be the only one they put toghether in The Hue and Cheese years. It was only performed briefly at concerts, but when it came up you could be sure that only the "big boys" were to be found on the floor!

The lyrics are violent, as they are in many of The Hue/Cheese songs, ironically, since all the members of the band were and are completely harmless guys, almost pacifist. Apart from the occasional flare-up – mostly heated discussions between Michael and Mikkel, concerning guitar volumes – there was never any fighting or physical violence at concerts. At least not initiated by any of the band-members...

Michael: Nice rocker, I think my brother was in on the lyrics quite a bit, he might have been inspired by some of those English black comedy serials we used to watch and enjoy - you know, Rik Mayall and so on...

Mikkel: This was the first and last joint venture between Emmeth and I. The words are nonsense, something about an old lady and her love of firearms and the right to defend yourself. Why? No idea. The music can at best be described as a pathetic attempt at creating heavy metal, but we had a lot of fun doing it - and that's what was important back then!

Granny With The Gun, lyrics:

She was walking with the dog, didn’t know , it was dark, alone in the park
felt a blow, hit the deck, didn’t even think, but now she knows

Granny with the gun, you can’t escape
Granny with the gun, don’t have to try
Granny with the gun, no way out
Granny with the gun, you’re gonna die

If you’re going out, please take care, if you meet her be very scared
she’s got a gun and it ain’t no fun, to feel a bullet in your head, you’re gonna be dead

Granny with the gun, you can’t escape
Granny with the gun, don’t have to try
Granny with the gun, no way out
Granny with the gun, you’re gonna die

Now you know, you better look out, You’re all alone, no one to call
The cops don’t dare, to touch her dog, she’s the head ot the town, don’t call her a clown

Call her granny with the gun

Granny with...

And now you know the woman, that we all love, It may not look like it, but she sure is tough

Granny with...
