Failure, Mikkel Steen/Michael Hansen
Vocals, rhythm guitar: Mikkel Steen
Keyboard: Tim Jørgensen
Recorded in the VMC Studio, autumn 1992
5th song on appearing on Invite Your Friends Over For Tea, length x:xx minutes

One of the most atypical Cheese-tracks recorded to date. No jokes, no hidden messages, no bullshit. The lyrics bear little resemblance to any other words pieced together by the group. This almost-solo performance includes a beautiful classis guitar/french horn solo to add to it’s un-Cheesiness…

This song was only meant as an album-filler if the time and cash set aside for paying the technician would allow. But Morten's bass lost a string on the first day of the recording sessions - so this track was recorded when he went shopping. A funny little coincidence...

Michael: I didn't do much on this one... I didn't do anything on this one at all... Except for the lyrics. I really like Tim's solo - french horn or whatever it is - and is noteworthy that we even chose to record stuff like that - I mean, compare She's So Hard To Rock'n'Roll to this one - you wouldn't think it's the same guys...

Mikkel: I wrote this on Fyn sitting on the beach playing around with the chords from Blackbird. When I got back to Copenhagen, I played it to Michael who wrote those nice lyrics, that I actually really like - they fit nicely in with the mood of the song. Tim plays a great keyboard section as well. I remember practising this one and suddenly Tim played the solo, that positively was inspired be Penny Lane - and there it was. He couldn't really play anything else for this one... double McCartney in one song, not bad, not bad at all!

The only problem I have with this one is my singing that prove that we should have raised it by a note or two. I always liked the light notes more...
