That The Hue liked playing around with different musical styles, this song – mainly composed by Michael – is living proof of. If it was this stumbling from one extremity to the other that kept The Hue from their big break can be discussed. This performance is rock-solid. The bass and drums (Kuhlmann’s work on this track is noticeable) form a great foundation for Michael’s wah-wah riff. The wah-wah – which Michael purchased on a visit to Denmark Street in London - had become one of his trademarks at live performances – alongside stripping at any given occasion...

The Dizzy Mizz Lizzy founder Tim Christensen – a close ex-friend of Mikkel and follower of the group – expressed great appreciation of this track, and it was one of the few songs from The Skytape that stayed in The Hue’s liveact catalogue for many years after. It was also – together with We’re Exhibitionists – the track that underwent the most changes through the years...

Mikkel: I always enjoyed playing this number live (just as Moby Dick) since I didn’t play the guitar, I could go down to the bar when the instrumental piece would start. There I could enjoy a cold one while I would hear the performance develop. The guys always did well here.

Dope Dealing Pimp, lyrics:

You better stop, look, see, what you’re doing to me
Otherwise you’re gonna scream
You better run, jump, flee, get away from me
I ain’t gonna do it again
You got me hooked, you got me screwed
And now I’m in it to my neck
You’ve got to let me go, I don’t need your snow
Just find another girl to sell

You’re a dope dealing pimp and you think I’m a wimp
Man, I’m gonna get revenge
You’re a dope dealing pimp and you think I’m a wimp
Man, I’m gonna get revenge

You sent me through hell, through living hell
You said that I was doing fine
You locked me up, and drugged me out
And now I have to drag me out
You promised me gold and instead I’m on the dole
Hey, what a lucky break
Red stuff on your coat, there’s a knife in your throat
And I’ve never seen you look so good

You’re a dope dealing pimp and...

You’re a dope dealing pimp and...
